The races were on this weekend and everyone was putting their best fashion foot forward! I have to say, there was so much colour and originality this year; it was amazing. There were so many stunning entries into Myer’s Fashion on the Fields this year and one of the things I love about Canberra is how supportive we are of local designers. The Canberra arts/design community really work together to build each other up, not compete and drag each other down. Some of the stand outs on the day were designs by Dissonance and Sovata, who always own the races season!
On the day I wore a half sleeve, embellished skater dress by Comino Couture. I was drawn to the dress because of the elaborate details and I often wear a lot of black and white so I thought I’d mix it up with some colour for once. Initially, I was so worried I would cook in a dress with sleeves but luckily I managed to survive thanks to the bipolar Canberra weather. In terms of fascinators, I kept it simple, just a gold headband intricately decorated with pearl beads and I matched it with vintage pearl earrings. Enjoy!
