Sweet Potato Brownies Recipe

I first saw these 4-ingredient Sweet Potato Brownies on Renee's (She Alchemy) insta-story, then literally 2 days later Jessica Black posted a similar recipe so I was pretty keen to try them! I added coconut flakes so technically that makes the 5-ingredient Sweet Potato Brownies but whatever, still tasted amazing and they are also vegan incase you were wondering. All the info is below!




  • 1 cup mashed sweet potato

  • 1/2 cup nut butter (peanut/almond/cashew, whatever you'd prefer)

  • 1/4 cup cacao powder

  • 2 Tbs maple syrup


  • 1/4 cup organic coconut flakes


  • 1/4 cup choc chips (can use vegan chocolate if you'd like)


  • Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius

  • Line a rectangular/square baking tin with baking paper and set aside

  • Combine the nut butter and maple syrup in a bowl and microwave for 1-1min30sec (in 30sec bursts, stirring in between each 30sec burst)

  • Add the cacao powder, sweet potato and coconut flakes into the bowl with the nut butter and maple syrup and mix well 

  • Pour the combined mixture into your baking tray, sprinkle any left over coconut flakes on top and bake for 15-20 minutes

  • Once cooking time has finished let brownies cool for 15-20 minutes before serving
